Ashley Cain and girlfriend Safiyya break down in tears as baby Azaylia sends them ‘signs’ in the sky after ‘worst day’
ASHLEY Cain and his girlfriend Safiyya broke down in tears tonight as baby Azaylia sent them “signs” in the sky after their “worst day”.
The heartbroken parents were blown away by the apparent message from their late daughter, who passed away last month at eight months old.
Taking to her Instagram Story tonight, Safiyya filmed a jaw-dropping sunset on her and boyfriend Ashley’s doorstep.
Off-camera, she told followers: “The last few days I haven’t seen much going on in the sky, and tonight I got blessed with this beautiful orange sunset.”
Speaking to the sky, she signed off: “Hey princess.”
Safiyya returned to her Story shortly afterwards, absolutely shocked to have seen the sunset get even deeper with intensity since her first video.
She was further moved when she spotted a heart in the orange clouds, with orange the colour that she and Ashley always used to represent Azaylia’s brave battle.
The devastated mum then saw angel wings in the sky, and as she silently filmed the sunset some more, Safiyya could be heard sniffing before choking up with tears as the camera cut.
She then penned a lengthy message to her daughter while sharing a selection of photos – including an image of Azaylia, her and Ashley staring up at the sky together, and the face she saw in the clouds.
Safiyya wrote: “WoW Azaylia I see you 🙏🏽😯 🧡 Everyday is an incredibly tough day, but today was one of my worst days 😢
“I have prayed so hard today for a sign from you I gave you mine & you delivered the most incredible visual for me and daddy 🧡.
“Me and daddy took a moment to appreciate the sky and the beautiful love hearts and angel wings you created along with the letter A! And your beautiful face, I am such a proud mummy, you have filled me right up to the top again Azaylia Thankyou.
“I love you, you really have made me so happy and smile tonight your my guardian Angel and you have showed that many of times but tonight I no your always here I love you 🧡🧡🧡👼👼👼”
Ashley was also incredibly moved, breaking down in tears as he filmed a video for Instagram, choking up as he told followers: “For days and for days I’ve been running, I’ve been biking, I’ve been staying outside as much as possible and I looked at the sky just asking her to give me a sign.
“Today she has given me that, it’s made me so happy – even now she knows how to put a smile on my face and that’s given me strength, courage, inspiration to keep ploughing forward. I love you baby.”
Also writing a moving message to his main page, Ashley shared: “There is no such thing as good and bad days at the moment. There’s bad and worse. But after another painful day, asking and praying for Azaylia to give me a sign that she’s ok… This happened tonight! 🧡
“I sat on the grass outside the front of my house at peace and in awe of the beauty in front of me. Not only did she give us an orange sky and a beautiful heart shaped break in the clouds… But she peeped through herself so we could see her beautiful face. 👼🏼
“I couldn’t have wished for a more magical evening and through so much pain, she’s still bringing me the glimpses of happiness that I need! I cry so much at the moment… But tonight baby, tonight I smile! I LOVE YOU CHAMP ❤️”
Brave Safiyya and Ashley have been honest in their solace from the sky when opening up about their crippling grief with social media followers.
Ashley admitted that it’d brought him “peace” after he and Safiyya spotted their daughter’s face, angels, and even Azaylia’s initial in the clouds after her death.
Earlier this week, Safiyya said that she struggled to get out of bed through her pain and heartache, adding that the world is a “scary place to wake up to”.
She also questioned “why Azaylia” as she battled sleepless nights, with Ashley sharing that planning their little girl’s funeral had “brought him to his knees”.
At the beginning of April, the devoted parents revealed that doctors had told them they could no longer treat Azaylia’s leukaemia, which she was diagnosed with at just eight weeks old.

The family had just raised over £1million for her to get specialist treatment in Singapore when they were delivered the heartbreaking news, with medics finding tumours throughout her body – including on her brain.
In the weeks that followed, Azaylia needed several blood transfusions as she started to cry blood, and suffer nosebleeds – with purple bruises also appearing on her body as her illness meant that her blood could not clot.
She stopped breathing several times and began to suffer seizures in her final days, with Safiyya and Ashley providing their daughter round-the-clock care alongside their close family members.
Azaylia passed away at home on 24 April, with Ashley and Safiyya both paying emotional tribute as they broke the news on social media the following day.
