Pregnant Kate Ferdinand springs epic 42nd birthday surprise on husband Rio with the help of his kids
PREGNANT Kate Ferdinand surprised her other half Rio with a fancy dinner at home for his birthday.
The former footballer turned 42 in lockdown, but Kate, 29, made sure he celebrated in style – despite not being able to leave the house in lockdown.
She enlisted the help of his kids Lorenz, Tate and Tia to make the day extra special – and they all dressed up for the special occasion.
Telling fans about the evening, Kate shared snaps on Instagram, writing: “Happy birthday to YOU.
“OK so we decided to dress up and surprise dad when he got home from work – dinner cooked by the kids.
“Lockdown birthdays aren’t so bad after all.”
In the beautiful snaps, Kate cradled her baby bump in a stunning gown.
They had personalised menus made for “Rio’s birthday dinner”, with garlic prawns and warm bread, fillet steak and a choice of three desserts.
The extravagant dinner was made by Rio’s talented kids.
Kate has brought up the three children Rio shared with his late wife Rebecca Ellison.
Rebecca died in 2015 from breast cancer.
Now Kate is expecting a baby of her own with Rio.
Four months before revealing her pregnancy Kate admitted she was worried about taking care of a newborn.
She said: “I’m not going to be able to cope!
“I said to Rio, ‘Say if we have a baby, once they get to five I’m going to great. I know what I’m doing, guys, it’s fine. But that baby stage, I don’t know’.

“I said, ‘Rio, I’ve never changed a nappy’. He was like, ‘What?!’ But I haven’t had children and I don’t have brothers and sisters. I haven’t got nieces and nephews.
“He was like, ‘Wow’. I said, ‘Well you can change them, because you’ve had three!’ He said, ‘I don’t think so!’”
She added: “It’s going to be a big adjustment, because I feel like I know the older stage of being a mum but not to a newborn.”
